Dragon Ascendant was commissioned as a special gift for a young enthusiast deeply inspired by the world of classic Dungeons & Dragons. Conceived as a piece that would evoke adventure, imagination and the timeless allure of mythical creatures, the artwork combines traditional woodcarving with intarsia techniques to bring the dragon to life.

Created from carefully selected natural woods, each element was shaped to reveal depth, movement and subtle contrasts in colour and grain. More than a decorative object, the panel was designed to become a lasting keepsake—a personal work of art celebrating fantasy, storytelling and craftsmanship.

A distinctive detail of this piece is the separate wooden sword: it is an independent component, mounted in custom-made holders and can be removed. The sword is shaped close to a real blade, with a sharp tip and defined edge, and the hilt is inlaid with a red stone accent, adding both realism and symbolic focus.
