Handmade Moss Guitar Wall Art

A Gift That Started a Tradition

Long before MossArtum became the studio it is today, this guitar existed simply as an idea for a friend's fiftieth birthday.

He was a musician, and we wanted to create something that celebrated not only music, but also the beauty of natural materials and the warmth of handcrafted work. The elegant silhouette was created by our friend and designer, Asena, whose vision gave the piece its distinctive, flowing character.

At that time, our workshop didn't exist yet. We worked around the dining table in our living room, learning through every project we made. The guitar's outline was cut on a CNC machine, while every other step—from shaping and sanding to finishing and assembling—was completed by hand.

One detail mattered more than anything else: the wood.

We wanted the guitar to be crafted from something truly special, but we had little experience and didn't even know where to begin looking. After visiting a local timber warehouse, one beautiful magnolia board immediately caught our attention. Its elegant grain and warm tones became the soul of the very first guitar.

To complete the gift, we added a laser-engraved stainless steel plaque carrying our personal birthday wishes.

Years later, the same design returned as a graduation gift, this time crafted from cherry wood.

Today, this version is made from carefully selected maple. The design remains unchanged, carrying with it the same idea that inspired the very first piece—that music and wood share something timeless. Both become more beautiful through the hands that shape them.

Today, a new maple guitar waits quietly for the person whose story it will become part of.

Design & Craftsmanship

Every guitar is handcrafted in our family studio, where each surface is carefully shaped, sanded, finished and assembled by hand. Natural oil and wax protect the wood while allowing its grain to remain the true decoration of the piece.

The result is a sculptural work that feels equally at home in a modern living room, a music studio, an office or any space where craftsmanship and music are equally appreciated.

Displayed Your Way

Although designed as wall art, this piece can also be displayed as a freestanding sculpture.

To make that possible, we designed a matching display stand specifically for this artwork. Handcrafted from solid walnut and ash, it follows the same flowing language as the guitar itself, becoming a natural extension of the design rather than a separate accessory.

The stand allows the artwork to be placed wherever it feels most at home—beside a piano, in a music studio, on a console table, in a reading corner, or in an entrance hall—without the need for a permanent place on the wall.
