Mini Botanical — Camellia. Hand-Carved Walnut, Preserved Moss and Glass.

Layer upon layer of carved walnut petals gives Camellia its distinctive rhythm and depth.

The flower fills most of its hexagonal pine frame, while preserved natural moss remains visible in the spaces around it. At its centre, a pale glass cabochon with delicate golden lines introduces a small luminous detail among the warm, earthy tones of the wood.

Created as part of the Mini Botanical Collection, Camellia grew from Victoria’s idea for a series of compact flower panels. The common format, materials and scale connect the individual pieces, while the different structure of each flower gives it a character of its own.

The camellia is often connected with admiration, grace and refinement. Its symbolism is echoed in the ordered repetition of the petals — intricate without becoming fragile and decorative without losing the natural presence of the wood.

Every new Camellia is carved individually. Natural differences in the walnut, moss and glass cabochon will create subtle variations, ensuring that the recreated artwork remains handmade and unique rather than an exact mechanical copy.
