Mini Botanical — Rose. Hand-Carved Walnut, Preserved Moss and Glass

Small in scale yet rich in depth, Rose brings together the warmth of walnut, the vivid freshness of preserved natural moss and a deep red glass cabochon at the heart of the flower.

The rose was carved by hand, petal by petal, allowing its form to rise gradually from the moss beneath it. Its organic volume is held within a geometric hexagonal frame made from pine — a contrast between natural growth and quiet structure.

Rose is part of the Mini Botanical Collection, created from Victoria’s wish to develop a series of small floral artworks. Each panel was designed to work as an individual piece while also combining naturally with the other flowers in the collection.

The rose is often associated with love, devotion and beauty. Here, its familiar symbolism is expressed through wood rather than colour: through overlapping forms, visible grain and the physical depth of the carving.

The original artwork shown in the photographs has been sold. This design is available to order and will be created individually in our family workshop.

Because every piece of wood has its own grain and every section of natural moss has a slightly different texture, each new Rose will have subtle variations while preserving the original design and character.
