Forest Geometry - The Piece That Started It All

Some works become special long before anyone realizes it.

This composition was one of the very first pieces we created together. What began as an experiment with natural wood and preserved moss slowly became the artwork that defined the early years of MossArtum.

Over time, we handcrafted many versions of it. Some found homes across different countries, others became gifts for family and friends. Yet the original piece has never left us. It still hangs above our bed, quietly reminding us where this journey began.

Perhaps that is why we never truly retired it.

About the Piece

Inspired by the calm rhythm of forests and the natural geometry found in wood, this composition brings together handcrafted solid wood cubes and preserved moss in a clean, balanced design.

Every wooden cube is individually cut, sanded, finished, and assembled by hand. Their subtle variations in grain, color, and depth create a living surface that changes gently as the light moves throughout the day.

The preserved moss introduces softness and organic texture, creating a peaceful contrast to the precise geometry of the wood.

Rather than drawing attention through complexity, the piece celebrates simplicity, balance, and the quiet beauty of natural materials.

Each panel is individually handcrafted in our family workshop in Bulgaria.

No two pieces are ever completely identical. Every cube carries its own grain, tone, and character, making each composition subtly unique while remaining faithful to the original design.
